A Journey in an English Speaking Country
You are going to make an oral report about an English speaking country, such as:
Great Britain
Ireland
Australia
New Zealand
Canada
USA/Alaska
India
South Africa
First a short presentation of your country:
You introduce the country by giving useful and interesting information about it, for example:
Flag
A description of where in our world we can find the country. A map on the screen where you show us the location of places would be nice ☺
Capital
Population
Nature/Climate
Big Cities
Mountains
Lakes
What the country is known for (production, famous people, sports, artists, history, inventions and so on)
Then tell us about your journey!
- Make some reflections on the differences and similarities between Sweden and the country you are telling us about.
Describe a dream journey you would like to do or pretend that you have been on a trip in the English speaking country that you have chosen.
- Your trip will last for at least one week, but maybe longer. You have to visit five different places.
- Your task is to plan your journey and tell us everything about it.
You can include:
• How you got to the place. (By plane, boat, train etc.?)
- What places you visited during your trip. For how long did you stay? Interesting facts about the places you visited! Interesting people you met!
• What did you do during your trip? Museums? Sightseeing? Concerts? Theatres? Sports Events? Shopping? Markets? Seeing friends?
• Who did you travel with? A friend? Alone? Family? Boyfriend/girlfriend?
• How did you feel during your trip? What was the best/worst thing that
happened to you? Why?
To make this as real as possible you need different kinds of
information. To find this information you can use the Internet, reference
books in the library and what you have learnt from other classes.
Your oral report can be maximum 10 minutes.
During your oral presentation you can use a keynote/google presentation, music, digital pictures or something else to make your presentation as interesting as possible.
Have a nice trip!
