Oral National Tests in English: Some Advice and Tips

Each group will get 5 minutes for preparations and then the actual test lasts for 15 minutes

  • make sure to read the instructions carefully before starting

  • help each other out in finding the right words and getting on in the discussion

- make sure you both talk AND listen to your friend

  • interact with your friend: ask follow up questions, give comments on what your friend says

  • say if you agree or disagree and motivate WHY

- give examples: everything you say doesn’t have to be true, it’s ok to make up examples that haven’t really happened

  • try to use the argumentation expressions that we have practiced, for example ”In my opinion”/”the way I see it”/”It’s quite possible”

- try to connect the question with a wider perspective/with someone else’s perspective (for example people younger or older than you)/with life in the different parts of the English speaking worldall

1. Have you witnessed “people being mean or cruel” online, as 88 percent of teens say they have? Have you joined in?
2. Would you say there is bullying in your school, or would you just say there is “drama”?
3. What different types of bullying are there?
4. What kind of person is a bully?
5. What kind of person is bullied?
6. Why do people bully other people?
7. Is bullying a big problem in Sweden?
8. How do adults in your school or community address bullying? Have you seen adults look the other way? What kind of interventions have you seen adults use to prevent or stop bullying?
9. What advice would you give to someone who is being bullied?
10. What can be done to prevent bullying?
11. What do you know about cyber-bullying?
12. How do you think bullies feel when they demean someone else?

We are going to discuss the questions on Friday in small groups!

Furthermore we are going to read a text called 'I Let Gatecrashers Steal My Sister's Car' and talk about it. You can find the questions to the text on Google Classroom.

DONT FORGET!!! SPEAK ENGLISH ALL THE TIME! :)

You can find the new words for next week on Google Classroom as well.

REMEMBER: Make sure to upload your keynote presentation (Present a profession).

Sv/sva: Vecka 45 (9A)

Hej 9A!

Bra jobbat!

Hälsningar
Liza
